After almost 2 years in Newcastle, we finally went for our first holiday about 3 hours away from Newcastle, in Primrose Valley. Instead of staying in a hotel or a B&B, we stayed in a caravan. I have no expectation on this trip as I've seen cars pulling caravan on the road. It's really small. Will we be able to stay 4 nights in a small caravan?
Lets find out.
I would say the size is beyond my expectation.
They say 4 person per caravan, but there are 3 rooms enough for 6 person to sleep comfortably.
I took these pictures before we left, so no linen can be seen. This is a self catering, self servicing caravan, so linen have to be collected upon arrival and returned before departure.
So you can see one room for sleeping, one for changing and one for storage.
The living room is huge too.
Equiped with a cheap Tiong Kok TV which the Power switch got stuck on the 3rd day.
The dining area, picture taken using my old Sony.
The kitchen.
Aroung the Perkampungan Kuala Primrose, there are shops which can sustain life even if you come here without bringing any food.
Like most holiday locations throughout the UK, Internet comes with an EXTRA cost. To think about it again, broadband speed in the UK is so much faster than back in my homeland. Why ah? Anyway, this was the perfect moment to use my phone for internet.
Just minutes away from the shops is the beautiful beach.
This picture was taken before departure and it speaks a lot about the weather. It was quite a stormy day with the uprooting wind which shook our caravan since a night before.
We brought Dan Dan for his very first swim. He was excited very excited, so was I. Unfortunately this is the only picture taken as the lifeguard said the manager prohibits photography around the swimming pool because there are lots of kids/toddlers around.
I guess this must be due to the recent case of nursery child pornography in the UK.
Dan didn't enjoy the swim very much, cling on to me at all time. First time mah, so many people some more, so noisy but I ask him if he wanted to go for a swim tomorrow, he said YES.
Another great place for my boy....the playground.
I think he spent almost an hour or more there. While daddy and mummy trying to persuade him to go home. Seriously it was cold out there.
Dan's road sense is very good. Everytime when I drive along the road to the playground, he will say TURN RIGHT, TURN RIGHT just like a SATNAV. The parking is on the right and the playground is on the left side of the road.
Entertainment
This is another place that is inseparable for Dan. Nice to try on so many bot bot. It's indoor and heated so we took our sweet time for him to try out all that he wants.
Scarborough
We drop by Scarborough twice, first to shop and second time to explore. I would say a full day trip is enough to cover this beautiful town but 1.5 to 2 days would be perfect.
It's located along the Yorkshire shore north or Primrose Valley. On the top of the hill sits the mightly ruin of Castle Scarborough. Climbing up to the castle was not much challenging due to the good foot path and staircase. Dan was asleep half the way up.
From the same spot, you can see the Grand Hotel which is really Grand, like a palace. My camera is perfectly fine, it's just extremely foggy.
Ah halfway to the castle, there are some medieval chairs prepared for Knight of the round round table to rest but the chair was a bit wet.
The view of the castle was spectacular. Hmmm I like that word
From the entrance
And Cikgu Tans is wondering....
why the castle was not open
We used another way down the hill and found a church with a carpark next to it.

Why this carpark is so special that it is worth mentioning? Did that crossed your mind?
Well, seems like the dead are making way for the living to park their car.
Notice the tombstones? Ah another one. I guess 'those' who still park and display were spared from being removed.
The doctor was here.
Ah need to watch The end of time now.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
